Vietnam Military Medical University organized a trip to Quang Tri province to return to a historical moral value in order to commemorate heroes, martyrs and the people with great devotion to the country.

VMMU: As the schedule of missions in July, 2017, from 12th July to 15th July, the university task team led by the university’s Director: Major General – Associate Prof. – Dr. Do Quyet and the university’s party committee Secretary: Lieutenant General - Associate Prof. – Dr. Nguyen Trong Chinh organized the activities “Repaying the great devotion”on the 70th anniversary of Martyrs and Wounded Soldiers’ Day.

VMMU carried out the activities to express the care and duty of the Party and the State in general as well as the care of all the members of VMMU to the people in QuangTri province. Besides, VMMU’s mission team commemorated the heroes, martyrs, the families under the government policy, the families with great devotion, the wounded and sick soldiers. They also helped the minorities and the poor in the remote areas in QuangTri province.
Also in this trip, the university mission team visited Top-Ranking General Vo Nguyen Giap’s tomb in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province; visited Truong Son national martyr’s cemetery, Road-No.9 national martyr’s cemetery, Quang Tri old citadel, and Thach Han wharf; gave houses of Gratitude and houses of great unity; gave gifts, free medical examination, free medical consultation, free medicines to the people with great devotion, the minority people and the poor in Vinh Linh district -  Quang Tri province.
At Top Ranking General Vo Nguyen Giap’s tomb, the university mission team spent one minute’s silence in memory of his great devotions. General Vo Nguyen Giap was the best student of President HoChiMinh, the Eldest Brother of VPA, and the elite person of QuangBinh province. On behalf of VMMU, the university’s Director: Major General – Associate Prof. – Dr. Do Quyet promised General Vo Nguyen Giap that VMMU would always prove the tradition of a unit awarded the title of Hero of the people’s armed force three times, continue to well accomplish all the duties given by the Party, the State, and VPA.

In Truong Son national martyr’s cemetery and Road-No.9 national martyr’s cemetery, VMMU’s mission team gave funeral wreath and burned incense at the memorial monument to express countless gratitude, sharp appreciation towards the great devotion of heroes and martyrs who had died for the national liberation and union. At the memorial monuments of heroes and martyrs,the university’s Director: Major General – Associate Prof. – Dr. Do Quyet and the university’s party committee Secretary-political commissar: Lieutenant General - Associate Prof. – Dr. Nguyen Trong Chinhrang a bell and wrote in visitors’ book to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who had died for the national freedom and liberation.

In QuangTri old citadel and Thach Han Wharf, the mission team also gave funeral wreath and burned incense to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who had fought and died in the operation of protecting QuangTri old citadel during 81 days and nights in 1972.

In VinhLinh district, the mission team gave 01 TV cost VND10 million to VinhKhe commune’s kindergarten; gave 21 gifts (cost VND500,000 each) to the wounded and sick soldiers, to the martyr’s families, to the families under the government policy, and to the families with great devotion to the national revolution; inaugurated and gave 03 houses of gratitude and 01 house of great unity (supported VND70 million to each house taken out from VMMU’s fund of repaying great devotion) to the following families: Bui Van Song (CuaTung town), Nguyen Nhu Binh and Nguyen Nhu Thai (Vinh Thuy commune), Tran Nam Tien (Vinh Tan commune); gave free medical examination, consultation, medicines to 1,200 people under the government policy, minority people, and the poor in VinhKhe commune, Vinh Ha commine, and BenQuan town.

Colonel-Associate Prof.-Deputy Political Commissar gave gifts and houses of gratitude to the families.
For the last years, all VMMU’s cadres, staffs, lecturers, cadets, students, and soldiers have always enhanced the unity between soldiers and people, and heighten the qualifications and tradition of “Cụ Hồ soldiers” during the movement of “Repaying great devotion” and the tradition of “being grateful to one’s benefactor”. Every year, VMMU sent many groups of medical personnel to examine, consult, and give free medicines to the people in the areas with difficulties such as Sơn La, Cao Bằng, Lạng Sơn, Thái Nguyên, Vĩnh Phúc, Lai Chau, etc,. Towards the 70th anniversary of Martyrs and Wounded Soldiers’ Day, VMMU has organized 17 groups to give freee medical examination, consultation, and medicines to over 7,000 people, and gave 85 gifts to the families with policy, families with great devotion to the national revolution. VMMU also organized the trip returning to historical memorial values, burned incenses, gave funeral wreaths, burned candles to commemorate, visited the martyr’s cemeteries, and built many houses of gratitude and unity.
This was a practical and meaningful activity in the movement of ““Repaying great devotion”, a big spiritual present with a lot of care from VMMU’s cadres, staffs, lecturers, cadets, students, and soldiers towards the families with difficulties in order to help the families partly reduce difficulties in their daily life. This also contributed to well implement the policy of the army’s rear as well as promote the local economic and social development.
