Enhancing training quality based on competence and standardized outputs.

VMMU: On the morning of September 18th, Vietnam Military Medical University (Ministry of Defence) held a ceremony to start its new academic year 2018-2019. Attending the ceremony were the leaders and agencies, units under the Ministry of Defence; leaders, commanders of units under the control of VMMU; the comrades in the Party, the Board of Directors and the majority of cadres and staff of VMMU.

Major General, Prof. Dr. Do Quyet, Director of the VMMU made a speech at the ceremony.

The speech by Major General, Prof. Dr. Do Quyet, Director of the VMMU, stated: in the last academic year, with the spirit of unity, upholding collective wisdom, actively overcoming difficulties and striving to complete all missions, staff, faculty, physicians, school members, and students of VMMU have successfully completed all tasks. In particular, the training has achieved excellent results, such as: organizing regulative and serious enrollment; admission points of university entrance of the university in the top universities across the country; enrollment work of postgraduate students was first applied in the form of tests on the computer version with the subjects of basic medical and language to ensure serious, objective and correct assessment of the quality of candidates. The university has built up a system of standardized outputs for regular military and civilian students and set up curricula for post-graduate students, especially for  Medical Specialist level 1 and level 2. The university also has three new doctoral degree majors and four new master's degree specializations.

Thanks to promulgation of the newly-built standards for its education programs, the university gained encouraging achievements in scientific research. The university conducted 15 state-level, 29 ministry-level and 147 local - level research projects.

Regarding its missions in the 2018-2019 academic year, the university targets to continue renovating teaching methods, updating new training contents and programs and concentrates on completing main tasks of the new academic year with the theme: “enhancing the quality of teaching and learning based on competence and standardized outputs”.

In addition, the university pays much attention to improving the quality of teaching and administrative staff, especially the English Competency as well as increasing investment in facilities and equipment in line with the building of a "Smart School" model in the age of Industry 4.0.


SLTC. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Cong Thuc - Vice Chairman  of Department of Cardiology made a speech at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant Colonel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Cong Thuc - Vice Chairman  of the Department of Cardiology said that: He took pride in working at a university with the thickness of more than 69 years of construction, development and growth and with the glorious tradition of achieving Hero Award for 3 times, one of the leading training and research centres of the army and the country. He also emphasized that the duty of VMMU lecturers is not only to teach the medical, political, military and social knowledge,  but also to give students love, understanding and sympathy with the pain of patients and the medical ethics. In order to complete all above mentioned tasks, each lecturer of VMMU must constantly study to improve knowledge, update new teaching methods with a view to giving students interesting and useful lessons. Moreover, each teacher has to set a good example of ethics for students to follow.



Non- commissioned officer Tran Thu Hoai- 51B class spoke at the ceremony.

On behalf of students of university, non- commissioned officer Tran Thu Hoai- 51B class expressed profound gratitude for close attention and direction in all aspects of Board of Directors as well as comprehensive and detailed guidance of teachers of VMMU. She said that: “All VMMU students promise to study hard, constantly cultivate moral virtues and sense of discipline and make great efforts to achieve the best results in the 2018-2019 academic year”.
