1. Unit Name: Digestive Surgery Department – Center.
2. Formation and development process:
– Established on September 20, 1958, under the name General Surgery Department, Abdominal Surgery Department (B2), later renamed as Abdominal Surgery Department, Vietnam Military Medical University.
– Since June 2019, it has developed into the Digestive Surgery Department – Center with two departments: Digestive Endoscopy Department (B2) and Hepato-Pancreatic-Biliary Department (B19).

4. Functions and tasks:
Treatment tasks: Examination, emergency care, and treatment of abdominal and digestive surgical diseases.
The Digestive Endoscopy Department specializes in the surgical treatment of the digestive tract and abdominal wall. This includes diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, and abdominal wall.
Digestive Endoscopy Department – B2
The Hepato-Pancreatic-Biliary Department specializes in the surgical treatment of diseases of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and bile ducts.
