2. Function and Mission:

* Treatment Mission:
Provide emergency care, treat obstetric and gynecological patients for military, civilian, policy beneficiaries, and health insurance subjects.
Conduct antenatal examinations, manage pregnancies, gynecological examinations, and outpatient treatment consultations for military, civilian, policy beneficiaries, and health insurance subjects.

– Examine and provide specialized maternal health consultations for military units within the jurisdiction, affiliated units, and entities, organizations registering with the Military Hospital 103.
– Actively develop and implement new techniques in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, provide specialized support for some hospitals in military zones and corps.
– Strictly implement the hospital’s 44 specialized regimes, resolutions to maintain professional ethics in treatment; build and maintain a culture of conduct within the unit.
– Execute other treatment missions as delegated by Military Hospital 103 and Vietnam Medical Military University.

* Training Mission:
– Conduct training according to the curriculum of the Vietnam Medical Military University for the following groups: long-term military medical staff, civilian medical staff, CKI and CKII obstetrics and gynecology, external CKI, postgraduate and resident physicians, preliminary specialized practitioners, bachelor’s degree in nursing, and high school nursing.
– Provide obstetrics and gynecology training for Field Hospitals 2.2 and 2.4.
– Train foreign students studying at Military Hospital 103 (Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, etc.).
– Conduct on-the-job training for officers and staff (doctors, midwives, and nurses).

* Research Mission:
– Conduct scientific research on topics within the field of obstetrics and gynecology and some related areas.
– Collaborate with the Research Center of Medicine – Pharmacy, the Military Obstetrics and Gynecology – – Clinical Center of the Military Hospital – Vietnam Medical Military University on areas such as diagnosis, prenatal screening, infertility, and reproductive support. Collaborate on scientific research with Japan on preterm birth.

3. Specialized Techniques:
* Actively Implementing and Developing Endoscopic Surgery Techniques in Obstetrics and Gynecology:
– Performing endoscopic surgery (PTNS) for partial hysterectomy, complete hysterectomy with the assistance of tissue grinding machines in the treatment of large uterine fibroids.
– Endoscopic surgery (PTNS) for postpartum hemorrhage (in the pelvic organs).
– Endoscopic surgery (PTNS) for extrauterine pregnancy, ovarian cysts.
– Endoscopic surgery (PTNS) for the diagnosis and treatment of female infertility causes (blocked fallopian tubes, displaced uterine lining, polycystic ovaries, etc.).
– Endoscopic surgery (PTNS) in gynecological cancer: cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, etc.
– Intrauterine endoscopy for treating submucosal uterine fibroids, uterine polyps; diagnosing infertility.
– Surgical correction of scars from previous cesarean sections.
* Cosmetic Surgeries: Vaginal narrowing; shaping the vulva, vagina, perineum.
* Application of Cryotherapy (Using Liquid Nitrogen) to Treat Various Disorders of the Cervix, Vagina, and Vulva.
* Implementation of LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure) in Treating Certain Cervical Disorders.
* Obstetric Examination, Ultrasound, Conducting Double Test, Triple Test, and Screening for Chromosomal Abnormalities Before Birth.
