Unit Name: CENTER FOR EMERGENCY RESUSCITATION AND ANTIDOTE (BM11)

Formation History:
Established on March 1, 1977, under the name “Emergency Resuscitation Department.” In August 1958, the official medical treatment team 3 became Military Hospital 103. In December 1958, Military Hospital 103 merged with the Military Medical Officer School and became a Practical Hospital. In 2001, the Emergency Resuscitation Department was established as a specialized department.
In 2008, the department “Emergency Resuscitation Department” was divided into four departments: Intensive Treatment Department (B11), Emergency Resuscitation Department (B16), Shock Department (A14), and Blood Purification Department (A12).
By 2017, it evolved into a center named the “Center for Emergency Resuscitation and Antidote,” comprising three clinical departments: Internal Resuscitation Department (A27), External Resuscitation Department (B11), and Emergency Resuscitation Department (B16). In 2021, the Emergency Resuscitation Department (B16) changed its name to Internal Emergency Department (A28).

Function and Mission:
– Training: As the training base of the Military Medical Academy, the center is responsible for providing in-depth training in emergency resuscitation and antidote. It updates medical professionals within and outside the military on the latest advancements in the field. It actively participates in training Ph.D. candidates, resident physicians, specialists, master’s degree holders, and preliminary specialized practitioners for military and civilian sectors. The center also contributes to the guidance and support for the development of emergency resuscitation specialties in lower-level units. Additionally, it engages in the transfer of treatment techniques to lower-level units.
– Scientific Research: Conducts in-depth research on national and ministerial-level topics. Guides research projects for doctoral students, resident physicians, postgraduates, and specialists in the field of emergency resuscitation and antidote. Collaborates internationally on scientific research related to the specialty.
– Treatment:
+ Emergency Internal Department (A28): Receives and provides initial treatment for all emergency cases coming to the hospital or those beyond the capacity of lower-level facilities, transferred to the hospital.
+ Internal Resuscitation and Antidote Department (A27): Provides emergency resuscitation and actively treats internal medicine-related diseases.
+ External Resuscitation Department (B11): Organizes and provides specialized emergency resuscitation and trauma care for severely injured and critically ill patients. Implements intensive care, enhances recovery after major and complex surgical procedures.

1. Organize emergency collections, mass emergency treatment, and quick emergency classification.

3. Plasma conversion on CRRT machine;
4. PiCCO technique – Continuous measurement of cardiac output;
5. Percutaneous tracheostomy using the Ciaglia method;
6. Intra-aortic balloon counter-pulsation,
7. Targeted body temperature control, target treatment of severe traumatic brain injury and respiratory circulatory arrest
8. Bedside emergency ECMO for treatment of acute respiratory and circulatory failure
9. Nasogastric tube placement under ultrasound guidance, and early gastrointestinal nutrition schemes to treat severe acute pancreatitis
10. Thrombolytic therapy for acute pulmonary embolism.
11. Peripheral catheter placement – central long-term venous feeding
12. Brain parenchymal catheter placement to monitor intracranial pressure; tracheostomy for patients
