4. Functions and duties:
– Education:
Undergraduate: train military and civillian general practicioners, and bachelor of nursing.
Postgraduate: train Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science in infectious diseases and tropical diseases, Level I/II Specialist in infectious diseases and tropical diseases; provide guidance to military and civilian medical units in the field of infectious diseases.
– Scientific research:
Collaborate with various units to conduct or supervise research projects at all levels related to infectious diseases and tropical diseases.
– Treatment:
Provide diagnosis, consultation, and treatment of all infectious diseases, tropical diseases, and related conditions:
+ Infectious disease intensive care (bacterial shock, etc.)
+ Comprehensive infection (infectious diseases transmitted through the digestive system, respiratory system, mucous membranes, and more)
+ Bloodborne infectious diseases (Viral hepatitis, HIV)
+ Pandemic prevention and control of highly dangerous pathogens (COVID-19, cerebrospinal meningitis, etc.).

5. Pivotal techniques:
– Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) in patients with septic shock, multiple organ failure.
– Plasma Exchange (PEX) in patients with liver failure due to hepatitis B and other causes.
– Basic and advanced respiratory resuscitation techniques (pleural puncture, placement of chest tube using direct light or under camera-guided, tracheostomy, non-invasive ventilatory support, invasive ventilation in patients with respiratory failure, etc.).
– Basic and advanced cardiovascular resuscitation techniques (placement of central venous catheter in septic shock patients, arterial catheterization, cardiac resuscitation with defibrillation).
– Lumbar puncture in cases of meningitis (lumbar puncture under CT guidance).
– Liver biopsy in hepatitis cases (liver biopsy using Hepafix needle, under ultrasound guidance).
– Arterial blood gas measurement, ultrasound, bedside X-ray.
– Nursing techniques (mechanical ventilation patient care).
– Diagnosis and treatment of highly dangerous diseases (bacterial meningitis, COVID-19, etc.)
