On the afternoon of November 20, in Hanoi, Vietnam Military Medical University held a gathering to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20/11/1982–20/11/2025).

Delivering the speech at the meeting, Lieutenant General, Professor, Doctor Tran Viet Tien , Director of  Vietnam Military Medical University, emphasized that the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20) is an occasion to honor those who have devoted their passion, intelligence, and entire lives to the cause of education—especially the mission of training generations of military medical doctors, the “white-coat soldiers” on the frontlines of caring for and protecting the health of service members and the people.
It is also an opportunity to recall traditions, express gratitude to generations of teachers, and reaffirm the achievements the university has attained over more than 76 years of establishment, development, and growth.

With sincere affection and profound gratitude, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Academy’s Board of Directors, Lieutenant General, Professor, Doctor Tran Viet Tien extended his warmest congratulations to the Academy’s current and former leaders; all lecturers; and the entire staff, trainees, students, soldiers, and employees of the Academy.

The Director of Vietnam Military Medical University stated that over the past 76 years, generations of the Academy’s educators have made significant contributions to the development and growth of the military medical sector; actively participated in training human resources for the country’s healthcare system; and made worthy contributions to protecting the health of soldiers and treating wounded and sick service members during wartime, as well as caring for, protecting, and improving the health of both the armed forces and the people in peacetime.

Along with fulfilling their duties with excellence, many educators of the Academy also serve as exemplary role models of dedication, academic determination, and continuous improvement of knowledge and professional expertise.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, the university has implemented its tasks comprehensively, with a particular focus on advancing reforms in medical education; developing a contingent of personnel with strong professional competence and a high sense of responsibility to meet the university’s development requirements and the needs of its training disciplines.

At the same time, to successfully accomplish the tasks of the new academic year, the collective of officers, lecturers, staff, trainees, students, soldiers, and employees of the university have remained united and determined to fulfill the key missions of the 2025–2026 academic year under the theme: “Promoting innovation, digital transformation, and building a smart institution.”
This effort aims to meet the requirements of building the Army in the new situation, as well as contributing to the national cause of industrialization, modernization, and international integration.

According to the Director of Vietnam Military Medical University, in the past academic year, the Academy effectively implemented the 2024–2025 training plan for undergraduate and postgraduate students in both military and civilian medicine, as well as international trainees at the university, affiliated hospitals, community facilities, and units. It completed the compilation of lectures for the training program and other requirements to ensure Phase 1 training for platoon-level officers; and developed and reported to the General Staff a proposal on continuing civilian training at the Academy, including 3 undergraduate programs and 61 postgraduate disciplines.

In addition, the university successfully organized numerous scientific conferences; developed plans for applying digital transformation in training and scientific research; and achieved high results in national Olympic-style academic competitions through its student teams.
The university also continued to support Laos’ 103 Military Central Hospital in successfully performing 11 kidney transplant surgeries (21 cases in total from 2022 to June 2025).

Alongside fulfilling their teaching duties, the Academy’s educators remain passionate and creative in scientific research. A total of 66 Academy-level research projects have been accepted. The university has issued decisions assigning scientific research tasks for 105 Academy-level projects in the 2024–2025 period, and has proposed to the Ministry of National Defense scientific and technological tasks for 2026–2030, including 6 national-level proposals and 18 proposals at the Ministry of National Defense level.

“To successfully achieve the theme of the 2025–2026 academic year and the Academy’s key missions—meeting the requirements of Army development in the new context, and contributing to national industrialization, modernization, and international integration; while renewing and enhancing training quality aligned with the competency-based medical education trend of medical universities nationwide—we must uphold unity and strive even harder as a collective of officers, lecturers, staff, trainees, students, soldiers, and employees,” the Director of Vietnam Military Medical University emphasized.

The Director expressed confidence that with the university’s tradition of solidarity, dedication, and high sense of responsibility among its staff and lecturers toward the cause of education, the university will undoubtedly overcome challenges and continue advancing to new heights.

On this occasion, Vietnam Military Medical University presented flowers to congratulate the educators recognized as meeting the criteria for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025; announced decisions and awarded certificates to those recognized as Senior Lecturers in 2025 and Excellent Lecturers at the Academy level for the 2024–2025 academic year; and announced commendation decisions and presented awards from the university’s Incentive Fund for Outstanding Students (IBS).
