Prof. Dr. Le Quang Cuong , Vice Chairman of the State Professor Council presented certificates to lecturers of the Vietnam Military Medical University who met the standards for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025

On the afternoon of December 26^th in Hanoi, Vietnam Military Medical University held a ceremony to present Certificates and Appointment Decisions for the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Cuong , Vice Chairman of the State Professor Council attended the ceremony and presented certificates to the lecturers of Vietnam Military Medical University who met the standards for the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025.”

In 2025, 10 lecturers of Vietnam Military Medical University were officially awarded the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025. Among them were two Professors: Senior Colonel Can Van Mao in Pathophysiology, and Senior Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care.

The eight Associate Professors this year of Vietnam Military Medical University include    Senior Colonel Pham Thai Dung specializing in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine and Toxicology; Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Ha Tuan in Traditional Medicine; Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Xuan in Cardiology; Senior Colonel Duong Quang Huy in Gastroenterology; Senior Colonel Nguyen Duy Toan in Cardiology; Senior Colonel Dao Ngoc Bang in Respiratory Medicine; Senior Colonel Vu Anh Hai in Thoracic Surgery; and Lieutenant Colonel Trieu Tien Sang in Biomedical Sciences and Genetics.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of Vietnam Military Medical University, Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Tien, Director ofVietnam Military Medical University extended his warmest congratulations to the newly appointed Professors and Associate Professors in 2025. He affirmed that the achievements attained by the new Professors and Associate Professors are not only a great honor for themselves and their families, but also a source of pride for Vietnam Military Medical University and the Military Medical sector as a whole.

According to Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Tien, Director of Vietnam Military Medical University , the recognition of the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor represents a noble acknowledgment by the Party and the State for lecturers and scientists who possess strong political integrity, profound professional expertise, and high academic prestige. This recognition affirms the core role of the intellectual contingent in education and training, scientific research, and the development of high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of national construction and defense in the new situation.

The recognition of the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor holds special significance for Vietnam Military Medical University, contributing to affirming the quality of education and training, scientific research, and the academic standing of the University as a leading center for training, research, and medical treatment of Vietnam People’s Army. At the same time, it helps build a strong contingent of military medical intellectuals who play a core role in teaching, postgraduate training, scientific research, and the development of military medicine, meeting the requirements of military and national defense tasks in the new situation.

According to Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Tien, Director of Vietnam Military Medical University, the number of lecturers at the University who meet the standards for the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor currently are 7 Professors and 77 Associate Professors. The Professors and Associate Professors of the University has made significant and meaningful contributions to improving the quality of education and training, scientific research, and technology transfer.

Vietnam Military Medical University is one of the core institutions of the healthcare sector in general and of Vietnam’s military medical system in particular. However, compared with universities at home and abroad, the number of Professors and Associate Professors at the University remains relatively modest.

The recognition of academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025 has made an important contribution to enhance both the quantity and quality of the University’s teaching staff.

Director of Vietnam Military Medical University emphasized that achieving the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor has already been a demanding process but fully demonstrating their roles and capacity is an even greater challenge. He expected the newly appointed Professors and Associate Professors would continue to strive to live up to the trust in them. Besides, such efforts should be reflected in high-quality scientific and technological products with strong practical value, publications on prestigious international journals, and active engagement in the training and mentoring of young staff who are dedicated to teaching and scientific research.
