Vietnam Military Medical University Launches 2026 Training Campaign

On the morning of March 2 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Military Medical University (VMMU) held a ceremony to launch its 2026 training campaign and to initiate a peak emulation drive celebrating the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 – 2031 term, as well as the 136th birth anniversary of Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026).

Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nghiem Duc Thuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the University; Lieutenant General, Professor, Dr. Tran Viet Tien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the University; members of the Party Committee and Board of Directors; along with all officers, staff, cadets, and soldiers of the University.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, Major General Pham Duc Tiep, Deputy Director of the University, disseminated and thoroughly briefed the University’s 2026 military and national defense tasks order.

In his address at the ceremony, Lieutenant General, Professor, Dr. Tran Viet Tien affirmed that in 2025, the University closely followed the directives of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, the General Department of Politics, and higher-level functional agencies, effectively performing its advisory role to assist the Party Committee and Board of Directors in successfully accomplishing all assigned tasks, many of which were completed with excellence. The contingent of officers, lecturers, staff, cadets, and soldiers demonstrated steadfast political resolve, strong determination, and a high sense of responsibility in fulfilling their duties.

At the same time, the University’s agencies and units closely coordinated to effectively implement training, regularity building, and discipline management, successfully completing central political tasks; building strong and exemplary Party organizations; and developing comprehensively strong, “exemplary and typical” units.

Affiliated agencies and units carried out numerous vibrant activities in implementing the 2025 Determined-to-Win Emulation Movement, achieving many important and outstanding accomplishments in task performance. Notably, one unit was recognized by the Ministry of National Defense, and 24 units were recognized by Vietnam Militarfy Medical University as “Comprehensively Strong, Exemplary and Typical” units. The University also participated in the All-Army Sports Festival and achieved high results, winning two silver medals and one bronze medal, and ranking first among military academies.

To successfully accomplish the 2026 combat training mission, the Director of the University requested all agencies and units to continue making breakthroughs and innovations to improve training quality and combat readiness.

Accordingly, it is necessary to continue thoroughly grasping the Party’s viewpoints and guidelines on military and national defense, as well as directives and resolutions of the Party and the Ministry of National Defense, especially Resolution No. 1659 of the Central Military Commission and Resolution No. 629 of the University’s Party Committee on improving training quality for the 2023-2030 period and beyond. Emulation movements must be effectively implemented in association with promoting the study and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example and style.

The University will strictly implement the military and national defense work directive of the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, as well as the University’s 2026 military and national defense tasks order and combat training plan. Training must ensure adequate personnel, content, and time allocation. The quality of officer training courses, competitions, and sports festivals will be enhanced; and efforts to build comprehensively strong, “exemplary and typical” units and improve regularity and discipline management will be strengthened.

Additionally, the University will also strictly maintain training plans, focusing on enhancing the comprehensive and specialized capabilities of its officers and staff; renewing working methods and styles toward greater regularity, scientific management, efficiency, and practicality. It will improve the quality of extracurricular training for cadets; enhance combat readiness and exercises transitioning units to higher readiness states. Officers at all levels are expected to set exemplary standards in fulfilling their assigned responsibilities, with agencies serving as models for units, and officers setting examples for cadets and soldiers.

The Director of the Vietnam Military Medical University called on Party committees and commanders at all levels, along with all officers, staff, cadets, and soldiers, to successfully accomplish the targets of the 2026 Determined-to-Win Emulation Movement and the peak emulation drive celebrating the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, as well as the 136th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.

He also emphasized the effective implementation of the movement “The Army Logistics Sector Follows Uncle Ho’s Teachings” and Campaign 50 on the effective, durable, safe, and economical management and use of weapons and technical equipment; ensuring strong logistical and technical support for both routine and unexpected tasks, while continuously improving the material and spiritual lives of officers and soldiers.

At the ceremony, the University’s leadership also presented the title of “Comprehensively Strong, Exemplary and Typical Unit” for 2025 to outstanding agencies and units.
