Female Military Medical Cadet Aspiring to Contribute

Among the individuals commended at the mid-term conference on the implementation of Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the 13th Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the 12th Politburo on promoting learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style, as well as Resolution No. 847-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission on promoting the qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and resolutely combating individualism in the new situation, organized recently by Vietnam Military Medical University (VMMU), we were truly impressed by the example of a female cadet with a slender figure but outstanding achievements in study and training. That is Senior Sergeant Trần Ngọc Minh Châu, a student of Class DH52D, Branch 4, VMMU.

Minh Châu was born into a family with a father who is an army officer, in An Hòa ward, Trảng Bàng town, Tây Ninh province. From her school days, Châu nurtured the dream of becoming a soldier. Learning about the rich historical tradition of VMMU, Châu became even more determined to pursue the path of becoming a military doctor to heal and save people.

Trần Ngọc Minh Châu shared: “At first, I faced many difficulties, partly because I had to be away from home and I was not yet accustomed to the intensity of studying, training, and the northern climate… But with a determined spirit, and especially with the support from commanders at all levels and the help of my comrades, I was able to overcome these difficulties.” In her role as Deputy Secretary of the DH52D Class Party Cell, Châu always demonstrated her role and responsibility in receiving and completing tasks; she set an example by leading various activities and regularly helping her comrades. Châu was always enthusiastic and proactive in participating in study exchange sessions, discussing knowledge, especially before each exam.

In particular, in 2021, when the Covid-19 situation became complicated, Châu volunteered to participate in pandemic prevention and control in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces. Upon completing the mission, Châu was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. With a passion for scientific research, Châu and her group of students successfully conducted the project “Evaluating the correlation between sEMG and EMG of students at VMMU,” and had the honor of presenting it at the University’s Student Scientific Research Conference in 2022, winning second prize.

With these achievements, Trần Ngọc Minh Châu was awarded the title of Grassroots Emulation Soldier for four consecutive years (2020-2023), the title of Army Emulation Soldier (2023), and received a certificate of merit from the Minister of National Defense (2021).
