In the morning of January 10^th, in Hanoi, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Military Medical University (VMMU) held a conference to issue a resolution to lead the implementation of tasks in 2024. General Luong Cuong, Member of the Politburo, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army attended and directed the conference.

The conference was chaired by Major General Nghiem Duc Thuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of VMMU. The event was also attended by Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Kien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of VMMU and comrades in the Party Committee of VMMU.

In 2023, the Party Committee, Board of Directors, committees and commanders at all levels of VMMU have focused on leading, directing, overcoming difficulties, comprehensively completing tasks, and many tasks have been successfully completed. Leading and directing the thorough understanding and implementation of resolutions of the Central Military Commission, plans, orders and projects of the Ministry of National Defense on education and training tasks; proactively develop strict and realistic implementation plans. The work of admission, emergency care, treatment, medical examination and treatment for soldiers and people achieved positive results, the hospital bed utilization rate reached more than 100%; medical ethics, spirit, and service attitude have been improved, building a good, friendly cultural environment in the hospital. Proactively review and consolidate the system of regulations and processes on science and technology management tasks. Direct and manage the quantity and quality of research topics and projects.

Leading the building of a clean and strong Party Committee in politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres. There are many solutions to build a strong and comprehensive VMMU that is “exemplary and typical”. Addressing the event, General Luong Cuong acknowledged, appreciated and praised the leadership and direction results of the Military Medical University Party Committee in carrying out the tasks in 2023. Affirming that VMMU is one of the leading training, scientific research and treatment centers of the country and the Army. General Luong Cuong requested VMMU Party Committee to focus on leading and directing the extensive and effective implementation of resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Central Committee, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the VMMU Party Committee.  Continue to be determined and lead the building of VMMU in association with building the VMMU’s Party Committee and organizations that are strong in politics, ideology, ethics; as well as to build VMMU a comprehensively strong “exemplary and typical”.

In particular, attention needs to be paid to building a strong staff team; Pay more attention to the training, fostering, maintenance and management of staff at all levels in VMMU. At the same time, there needs to be mechanisms and policies to attract, train and foster high-quality human resources in VMMU. Pay more attention and care for the material and spiritual life of officers, employees and students throughout VMMU.

General Luong Cuong emphasized that 2024 is a year of high concentration and acceleration in completing targets and tasks of Party Congress Resolutions at all levels; Based on functions and tasks, the Party Committee of VMMU needs to strictly comply with the Party’s principles of organization and activities, especially the principle of democratic centralism; build internal solidarity, unity, and successful implementation of tasks. At the same time, do a better job of defense diplomacy, continue to enhance the position and spread the image of the Vietnam People’s Army in the world.

2024 is also the year of celebrating many major holidays of the Army; The Military Medical University celebrates the 75th anniversary of the VMMU’s Traditional Day, so it is necessary to promote traditional education, pride, and determination for generations of officers, employees, students, and soldiers to accomplish all tasks.
