Nearly 500 Athletes Participate in Sports Competition and Physical Fitness Exchange

On the afternoon of February 27th, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Military Medical University commenced a sports tournament and physical fitness exchange to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the university’s Traditional Day (March 10, 1949 – March 10, 2024). Major General Tran Minh Phong, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Military Medical University, attended and presided over the opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony was graced by representatives from commanding units, organizations, and agencies, as well as referees, alongside nearly 500 athletes participating in 6 events, including men’s football, women’s volleyball, badminton, table tennis, men’s volleyball, and tug of war for both men and women.

The sports tournament and physical fitness exchange are practical activities aimed at exchanging experiences, fostering camaraderie, learning, and improving health. They also aim to further promote the physical fitness training movement and sports activities of units within the university and to assess the training and competitive standards of physical fitness activities for officers, cadets, staff, and soldiers, fulfilling the requirements of building a strong and comprehensive Vietnam Military Medical University as a model institution.

Major General Tran Minh Phong, Deputy Director of Vietnam Military Medical University, affirmed: “Organizing sports competitions and physical fitness exchange activities is part of a series of events to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the University’s Traditional Day, creating a joyful, healthy atmosphere and contributing to improving the quality of sports activities in the future. It also aims to train resilient and flexible troops, foster high solidarity, and excel in all tasks, meeting the requirements of the new situation.”
