Recently, the scientific research activities and technical improvements initiated by the youth of VMMU have received significant attention and support from the leaders at all levels, resulting in many notable achievements, including several outstanding ones. The scientific and technological efforts of the youth represent a vital part of the research activities and can be considered one of the strengths of VMMU.

“We have surpassed many major medical universities nationwide to win prestigious awards. The scientific projects and technical improvement initiatives by the young staff, trainees, and students of the Academy are highly regarded by scientific councils at all levels. In 2024, VMMU’s youth consistently secured high awards at conferences and national-level scientific awards. Notably, in the recent 24th Young Creative Awards in the Military, VMMU was among the few units to achieve numerous awards, including two first prizes (out of six first prizes awarded across the military), and we were honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Minister of National Defense for our outstanding achievements,” said Major General Dr. Tran Viet Tien.

Major General Professor Dr. Tran Ngoc Tuan – Deputy Director of VMMU awards certificates of merit to the teams that achieved outstanding results in the competition.

According to the Director of the Military Medical Academy, the research activities have helped young staff utilize their intellect, creativity, and ability to access and gradually master science and technology in their work positions. This supports students in developing scientific thinking and methodologies, which serve as a foundation for enhancing their professional skills and significantly improving the quality of training and scientific research.

Professor Dr. Tran Viet Tien hopes that in the future, the leaders of units and departments will pay more attention and create better conditions for the scientific research activities of young staff to be regularly maintained, truly in-depth, and increasingly systematic.

For the lecturers, alongside providing guidance and imparting knowledge to the younger generation, it is essential to create opportunities for young scientists to develop their intellect and independent, creative thinking in scientific research and technical innovations. At the same time, while equipping them with knowledge, the team of young staff should also focus on building political will and professional ethics, ensuring integrity in scientific research so that they can become a true scientific workforce that meets the demands of international integration.
