On the morning of August 25th, Vietnam Military Medical University organized the second voluntary blood donation activity of 2024.
This activity is part of the youth’s efforts at the Academy during a peak period of striving for achievements to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945/August 19, 2024) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945/September 2, 2024).
Major General Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Political Commissar of Vietnam Military Medical University attended and delivered directive speeches at the event. Representatives from the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, officers, and youth members from System 2 and related units also participated in the activity.
Speaking at the event, Major General Nguyen Van Nam stated that humanitarian blood donation is a very meaningful activity in humanitarian work to save lives. Despite significant scientific advances, there are still no substitutes for blood. With a readiness to donate blood to save patients at any time, the youth and members of Vietnam Military Medical University are always proactive and volunteer to donate blood. In the first six months of 2024, the Academy organized one voluntary blood donation campaign, collecting nearly 500 units of blood. This time, Department of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Military Hospital 103, and System 2 of Vietnam Military Medical University participated in the second round of the blood donation campaign.
According to information from the organizers, the blood donation activity collected a total of over 400 units of blood and blood products.
