Spreading the Spirit of Digital Learning at the Vietnam Military Medical University

On the evening of October 31st, in Hanoi, Vietnam Military Medical University (VMMU) organized the “Digital Learning 2025” Competition. This event aimed to celebrate the new 2025-2026 academic year, mark the upcoming 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20th, 1982/ November 20th, 2025), and respond to the National Digital Transformation Day.

Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Political Commissar of VMMU, attended and directed the competition. Also in attendance were Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor Vu Nhat Đinh, Deputy Director of VMMU, along with leaders and commanders from various agencies and units. Nearly 500 officers, cadets, students, soldiers, and staff members from the entire University were present to cheer and motivate the participants.

The “Digital Learning 2025” Competition is a central activity within the series of events titled “University-wide Digital Learning Festival and National Digital Transformation Day 2025 Response,” contributing to the goal of building a Digital University, Digital Learner, Digital Lecture, and Digital Methodology. Concurrently, it aims to spread the movement of lifelong learning, innovation, and adaptation to digital transformation across the University’s environment of training, scientific research, management, and treatment.

This year’s competition brought together four teams representing the different training systems of the University, who competed in three main rounds and one interactive audience segment.

Round 1: Basic Digital Knowledge.

Round 3: Skills in Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools.

Interspersed between the competition rounds was an audience interaction segment, which generated a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere, demonstrating the proactive and creative learning spirit of the cadets and students of VMMU.

According to the assessment by the Board of Judges, all competing teams demonstrated thorough preparation, showcasing their ability to apply digital technology, artificial intelligence, and creative thinking in each round. Many teams skillfully utilized various commands (prompts) on the Gemini platform, creating visually intuitive and engaging products that met professional requirements, thus demonstrating the cadets’ rapid adaptability to new technology.

Speaking at the Competition, Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor Vũ Nhất Định, Deputy Director of VMMU and Head of the Board of Judges, commended the active and proactive spirit of participation demonstrated by the teams, officers, and cadets. He affirmed that the Competition is a vital opportunity for cadets and students to hone their study and research skills in the digital environment. Simultaneously, he stated that it is a practical step in implementing the University’s policy of applying digital transformation and artificial intelligence in education and training, thereby contributing to building a team of young military medical intellectuals who are professionally sound, technologically proficient, and able to meet the mission requirements in the new context.

At the conclusion of the Competition, the University leader presented awards to the teams that achieved outstanding results. The “Digital Learning 2025” Competition ended on an upbeat note, leaving many positive impressions. The event was not only a platform to ignite the spirit of competition in learning and scientific research but also a crucial step that created a strong impetus to accelerate the process of digital transformation in military medical education and training. It further contributes to building the Vietnam Military Medical University into a modern, smart center for medical training, research, and application, keeping pace with the trends of the 4.0 technology era.
