On the morning of September 26th in Hanoi, Vietnam Military Medical University (VMMU) organized a conference to summarize the implementation of the Law on professional soldiers, national defense workers and officials in 2015.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Kien affirmed that after many years of implementation, the Law on professional soldiers, national defense workers and officials, related legal documents have created a crucial legal foundation for building a strong force of professional soldiers, national defense workers and officials. With the enactment of this Law, the legal status of professional soldiers, national defense workers and officials has been formalized. Policies on labor, wages, social insurance, and health insurance are among the most important goals for professional soldiers, national defense workers and officials, serving as a powerful motivation for every officer to feel secure in dedicating themselves to building the Military.

Regarding the orientation for implementing the Law in the coming time, VMMU will thoroughly grasp and promptly disseminate resolutions, decrees, regulations, circulars, guidance from the Central Committee, the Government, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense. Moreover, VMMU continues to implement the law in a synchronous rigorous effective manner, enhancing the quality and effectiveness of propaganda and education on the awareness and responsibility of Party Committees, commanders, and officers at all levels in leading and directing the implementation of the Law, giving advice on proposing amendments and supplements to related legal documents.

VMMU has focused on building a force of professional soldiers, national defense workers and officials meeting the requirement of sufficient quantity and high quality and with firm unwavering political will. Besides, VMMU aims to improve continuously officers’ level and capacity, which is well prepared to receive and successfully complete assigned duties and tasks. In addition, and the rate of excess or shortage of national defense workers and officials has been reduced to suit the demand of training, scientific research, and treatment in accordance with the organizational structure and staffing.

On this occasion, VMMU has awarded certificates of merit to 3 collectives and 10 individuals. Furthermore, VMMU has also proposed to award a certificate of merit from the Minister of National Defense to 1 collective and 1 individual for their outstanding exemplary achievements in staff management and propaganda on the Law on professional soldiers, national defense workers and officials.
