The Party Cell of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Holds Conference Reviewing 10 Years of Implementing Resolution No. 51-NQ/ĐU on Foreign Language Training and Development

On the afternoon of May 11, 2026, the Party Cell of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Vietnam Military Medical University, organized a conference to review 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 51-NQ/ĐU dated December 1, 2015 and Conclusion No. 792-KL/ĐU dated October 4, 2023 issued by the University Party Committee on leading foreign language training and development for staff, cadets, and students of the Military Medical University during the 2015–2020 period and the following years.

Nguyen Duy Bac – representative of the Board of Directors; representatives from the Political Department, the Organization Board under the Political Department, the Training Department, together with all staff members and Party members of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Party Cell.

At the conference, the Secretary of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Party Cell presented the report reviewing 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 51-NQ/ĐU. The report affirmed that, under the leadership and direction of the University Party Committee and the Board of Directors, the Faculty Party Cell had thoroughly grasped and effectively implemented resolutions and directives issued by the Party, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the University Party Committee regarding foreign language training and development. These efforts have gradually improved the quality of foreign language teaching and learning, meeting the requirements of educational reform and international integration in the new context.

After 10 years of implementing the Resolution, the Faculty of Foreign Languages has achieved many outstanding results in staff development, curriculum innovation, scientific research, and foreign language training cooperation. Currently, the Faculty has 6 lecturers holding doctoral degrees and 13 lecturers holding master’s degrees. Many lecturers have achieved international foreign language proficiency standards at the C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference. During the 2015–2026 period, faculty members published 114 scientific articles, including 24 papers indexed in ISI and Scopus journals; completed 35 scientific research projects; and compiled 26 textbooks and reference materials for training purposes.

In addition, the Faculty has actively renewed teaching content and curricula; implemented English training programs that meet output standards for undergraduate and postgraduate learners; and promoted the application of information technology and digital transformation in foreign language teaching and learning. Extracurricular activities, English clubs, and English Olympic contests have also been effectively maintained, contributing to the promotion of foreign language learning movements throughout the University.

In the discussion session, Party members focused on exchanging ideas and proposing practical measures related to lecturer development, scientific research, digital transformation in foreign language teaching, the development of digital learning resources, improving the effectiveness of VMMU’s Foreign Language Center, strengthening training cooperation, and continuing investment in facilities serving foreign language teaching and learning.

In his directive speech at the conference, Colonel, Prof., PhD. Nguyen Duy Bac, on behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, highly appreciated the achievements attained by the Faculty of Foreign Languages Party Cell over the past decade. He emphasized that, in the context of increasingly extensive international integration, foreign languages, especially English, play an extremely important role in the University’s training, scientific research, and international cooperation.

The Vice Director requested that, in the coming period, the Faculty of Foreign Languages continue to closely follow the University’s and the Ministry of National Defense’s plans and projects; focus on developing digital learning resources, compiling modern teaching materials, and promoting the application of technology and artificial intelligence in foreign language teaching. He also stressed the need to expand training cooperation, organize English courses at VMMU’s Foreign Language Center, and gradually build a widespread foreign language environment, thereby enhancing the training quality and international integration capacity of Vietnam Military Medical University.

The conference reviewing 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 51-NQ/ĐU provided an opportunity for the Faculty of Foreign Languages Party Cell to comprehensively evaluate the achievements obtained, identify existing difficulties and limitations, and draw lessons learned during the implementation process. At the same time, the conference clearly defined orientations, objectives, tasks, and key solutions to further improve the quality of foreign language training and development in the coming period, meeting the requirements for building Vietnam Military Medical University into an increasingly standardized, modern, and internationally integrated institution.
