Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, a member of the Central Party Committee and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, delivered a directive speech at the conference.

In 2024, the Party Committee, Board of Directors, and leadership at all levels within VMMU focused on overcoming challenges and achieving comprehensive task completion, with many tasks accomplished excellently. The Party Committee of the University was built into a clean and strong organization, demonstrating exemplary leadership capacity and combat strength while maintaining internal unity. The Party Committee and Board of Directors of the University strictly implemented the resolutions of the Central Party Committee, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense’s plans and projects regarding education and training tasks. VMMU achieved significant results in education and training, aligning with the requirements of tasks in the new context. The training content was ensured to be fundamental, comprehensive, systematic, and practical, with numerous innovations in organization and methods. This effort successfully met the quality standards of the 2023-2024 academic year training plans. Notably, the unit’s work in patient admission, emergency care, treatment, and ensuring sufficient clinical cases for training and research purposes increased significantly, yielding high effectiveness. Training exercises were conducted safely and met their objectives. Traditional techniques were maintained, while new techniques, especially in organ transplantation and burn treatment, were actively developed and enhanced. 

Lieutenant General Nghiem Duc Thuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of VMMU, chaired the conference.

At the conference, delegates discussed and analyzed the strengths and remaining shortcomings, identifying their root causes. The conference set forth that in 2025, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the VMMU will lead, direct, and effectively implement the resolutions, directives, and conclusions of the Central Party Committee, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the University’s Party Committee. Efforts will focus on continuing to innovate and improve the quality of education and training. A plan for civilian training programs in 2025 will be developed and implemented. Resources will be enhanced, and investments made in equipment to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment. Scientific research, particularly in military medicine and pharmacy, will be promoted. The leadership will prioritize the successful achievement of the goals and tasks outlined in the Resolution of the 22nd Party Congress of the University. Additionally, they will direct the organization of Party congresses at all levels and ensure the successful conduct of the 23rd Party Congress of the VMMU. The aim is to build a clean, strong, exemplary Party Committee and a comprehensively strong, “model and exemplary” University.

In his directive speech at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang praised the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the VMMU for their leadership and successful implementation of tasks in 2024. To ensure the effective leadership and execution of directions and tasks for 2025, Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang emphasized the need for the Party Committee and Board of Directors to focus on implementing educational and training projects while innovating and improving training quality to meet output standards. He highlighted the importance of fostering the comprehensive development of faculty members and medical professionals, ensuring they possess the necessary qualities, competencies, and dedication to their professions. He also urged the University to promote the application of information technology, progressing toward the implementation of electronic medical records in line with the Ministry of Health’s roadmap.

Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang further called for unity and solidarity within the Party Committee and Board of Directors, urging proactive efforts to overcome challenges and steadfast determination to successfully lead the VMMU in fulfilling its assigned political missions. Additionally, he instructed the Party Committee to carefully oversee the organization of Party congresses at all levels, ensuring thorough preparation and the successful conduct of the 23rd Congress of the Academy’s Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
