On June 24, Vietnam Military Medical University officially opened a professional medical training course for Level 1 Field Hospital/Engineering Company No. 5, which is preparing to participate in United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations.

In recent years, Vietnam Military Medical University has made thorough preparations for organizing the training program for the Level 1 Field Hospital/Engineering Company No. 5, ensuring that all training requirements and mission objectives are met. Relevant departments and units have proactively coordinated to develop a training schedule suited to practical conditions. The training curriculum has been designed in accordance with regulations issued by the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, while all required support, standards, and logistical arrangements have been provided in full compliance with existing regulations.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Vũ Nhất Định, Deputy Director of Vietnam Military Medical University, commended the spirit of solidarity and determination demonstrated by all participating personnel in overcoming challenges during the preparation phase. He noted that these efforts have created the best possible conditions for the Level 1 Field Hospital/Engineering Company No. 5 to carry out the training program as planned.

To ensure the successful completion of the medical training course, Major General Vu Nhat Dinh called on all officers and personnel of the Level 1 Field Hospital/Engineering Company No. 5 to continue fostering unity, proactively overcome difficulties, and actively engage in all theoretical and practical training activities according to the established schedule. Participants were encouraged to study training materials independently, update their professional knowledge, and familiarize themselves with UN medical procedures and technical standards. They were also urged to exchange professional experience to enhance their medical expertise, practical skills, and capacity to respond effectively to medical emergencies in UN peacekeeping missions.

He further emphasized the importance of closely integrating classroom instruction with hands-on practice, with practical training serving as the central focus. Participants should also strengthen their ability to work in a multinational environment, improve coordination and teamwork among different sections, and enhance their foreign language proficiency for professional duties. In addition, they were instructed to strictly observe military discipline, comply with the university’s regulations and all safety requirements throughout the training period, and maintain a strong sense of responsibility and determination to successfully complete the course. These efforts, he stressed, will contribute to further improving the quality and professionalism of the Vietnam People’s Army’s personnel participating in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
