Vietnam Military Medical University holds a gathering to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.
On the afternoon of November 20, the Vietnam Military Medical University held a gathering to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2024).
During the event, attendees listened to a letter from the Minister of National Defense addressed to educators and education management staff in the military on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.
Major General, Prof., Ph.D. Tran Viet Tien, Director of the Vietnam Military Medical University, attended and delivered congratulatory remarks. Also in attendance were Major General Nghiem Duc Thuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the university; members of the Board of Directors; leaders of affiliated units of the university; and former leaders of the Vietnam Military Medical University from various periods.

Speaking at the gathering, Major General, Prof., Ph.D. Tran Viet Tien emphasized that “Respecting teachers and valuing education” is a cherished tradition and a cultural identity of our nation. This tradition has been nurtured and passed down through countless generations, contributing to the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam, with its history spanning thousands of years.
Over the past 75 years, generations of educators at the Vietnam Military Medical University, with their dedication and intellect, have contributed to the noble cause of “cultivating people.” Their efforts have played a significant role in the development and advancement of military medicine, actively participating in the training of medical personnel for the nation’s healthcare sector. They have made invaluable contributions to the mission of safeguarding the health of soldiers, treating the wounded and sick during wartime, and caring for and improving the health of both soldiers and civilians during peacetime.
Many doctors trained by the Vietnam Military Medical University have become respected leaders, educators, and physicians, entrusted with high-ranking positions in the military and the national healthcare system. In addition to fulfilling their duties and responsibilities, many educators at the university have set an example with their perseverance in learning, enhancing their knowledge, and advancing their professional expertise.

Major General, Prof., Ph.D. Tran Viet Tien highlighted several achievements across various fields of the Vietnam Military Medical University in recent times, affirming that these successes stem from the unity, relentless efforts, and high sense of responsibility of the university’s entire team of staff and lecturers.
He urged the university’s faculty to thoroughly grasp and implement the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense regarding military, defense, and education-training work. He emphasized the importance of effectively executing the training plan for the 2024-2025 academic year for all student groups, fostering and developing the teaching staff to meet the requirements of educational reform in the new phase. Additionally, he encouraged the implementation of research projects and the building of strong, cooperative relationships with local Party committees, authorities, and communities.

At the gathering, the leadership of the Vietnam Military Medical University presented flowers to the People’s Teachers and Distinguished Teachers who were former leaders of the university across various periods. They also congratulated the outstanding lecturers of the Ministry of National Defense and educators who achieved the title of Associate Professor in 2024, awarded the title of Outstanding Lecturer at the Academy level for the 2023-2024 academic year, announced commendation decisions, and presented IBS scholarships.
