Vietnam Military Medical University innovates training of military medical doctors in an integrated direction

On August 3rd, in Hanoi, Vietnam Military Medical University (VMMU) held the 13th Annual Medical Training Conference in 2024 with the theme: “Innovation in training military medical doctors in an integrated direction: Difficulties and solutions”. Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Kien, Director of VMMU chaired the conference.

With an objective, democratic and scientific spirit, the reports presented at the conference were carefully prepared, presenting a relatively comprehensive overview of the current status of the process of building, adjusting and implementing the military general practitioner training program according to Circular No. 01/2021/TT-BQP of the Ministry of National Defense. The conference focused on analyzing and accurately assessing the current situation, difficulties, and achievements of the process of building, adjusting, and implementing the training program; proposing feasible solutions to improve the quality of the training program.

In order to continue operating effectively the integrated military medical training program, Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Kien suggested that agencies and units throughout VMMU in the coming time need to coordinate, regularly collect data, and evaluate the effectiveness of the innovation of the military medical doctor training program in the integrated direction, thereby proposing adjustments and developing the training program suitable to the actual conditions of VMMU in each period. Organizing training courses to improve professional skills for officers and lecturers with practical content which is suitable for each group of learners. Developing a plan to compile textbooks and teaching materials, ensuring sufficient textbooks and diverse reference materials for subjects and modules in the integrated military medical training program.

Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Kien also asked agencies and units to analyse and propose appropriate forms of assessment, meeting the requirements of correct, fair and objective assessment, ensuring that the output standards of subjects, modules and training programs are met. At the same time, thoroughly applying active teaching methods, focusing on learners; carefully review the content and lectures, ensure that they are correct, fully and promptly provided to students before each class; strongly innovate the forms of examinations, tests and assessments to make sure that they are increasingly suitable to the content of the program and the output standards of the subjects.
