Lieutenant General, Professor, and doctor Tran Viet Tien, VMMU director, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

According to Lieutenant General, Professor, and doctor Tran Viet Tien, the recognition and appointment of the titles of Professor and Associate Professor is a major and significant policy of the Party and State. This policy aims to develop, nurture, and utilize leading and key scientific personnel in training and research institutions in alignment with national standards, gradually approaching the benchmarks of advanced countries in the region and around the world. It also serves as a foundation for defining the roles, responsibilities, and aspirations of scientific and educational personnel, as well as for proposing and implementing policies and regimes to support and reward highly qualified and reputable intellectuals.

“Currently, VMMU has five educators appointed as Professors and 69 educators appointed as Associate Professors. I am delighted that, in the 2024 review, seven more educators have been recognized as meeting the standards for the title of Associate Professor; all of them are permanent lecturers of the University. This is a proud achievement, the result of tireless efforts, learning, and dedication from our colleagues over the years. Achieving the title of Associate Professor is not only a personal honor but also a shared pride of VMMU. It affirms the exceptional efforts in teaching, research, and contributions to education, training, and the development of military science and medicine,” said Lieutenant General, Professor, and doctor Tran Viet Tien.

The VMMU leadership presented the appointment decisions for the title of Associate Professor to seven educators who met the qualifications for the position.

The VMMU director further emphasized that the seven individuals receiving their appointments today are exemplary figures in the spirit of learning, creativity in scientific research, and wholehearted dedication to the training of high-quality human resources for military medicine and healthcare. This serves as a solid foundation for VMMU to continuously enhance the quality of education, training, scientific research, and treatment, meeting the demands of healthcare and contributing to the mission of building and defending the nation.

The recognition of qualifications for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2024 plays a crucial role in improving both the quantity and quality of the teaching staff at VMMU. This elite group of educators can guide future generations of students toward outstanding achievements while promoting the application of science and technology in practical societal contexts. These efforts aim to solidify the University’s position as one of the leading centers for medical training, treatment, and scientific research in both the military and the nation, with a strong reputation regionally and internationally.
