Vietnam Military Medical University (VMMU) enhances the quality of protection and healthcare for the armed forces and the people

On the morning of March 5th, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of VMMU (March 10, 1949 / March 10, 2024), the university organized a scientific conference with the theme: “Knowledge enhancement and technology application for the improvement of healthcare service quality for soldiers and civilians.”.

Attending the conference were Comrade Do Xuan Tuyen, Deputy Minister of Health; representatives from the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Science and Technology. From VMMU, there were Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Kien, Director of VMMU; Major General Nghiem Duc Thuan, Political Commissar of VMMU; comrades in the Party Committee, Board of Directors of VMMU; comrades who were former leaders of the school.

Delegates visited the book exhibition booths on the sidelines of the conference.

The scientific conference featured 47 reports by authors from within the country and professors, experts from countries with advanced medical systems such as Japan, South Korea, China, and Malaysia. The conference included a plenary session with 4 overview reports updating advancements in organ transplantation, treatment of

cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and antimicrobial resistance prevention. There were 6 specialized sessions with 43 scientific reports by leading experts, scientists in various fields worldwide and in Vietnam, covering areas such as military medicine; infection control and prevention of infectious diseases; internal medicine and oncology; surgery and cosmetic surgery; biotechnology and biomedical sciences; dioxin and occupational diseases. Additionally, conference delegates participated in continuous training programs on topics such as cosmetic surgery, assisted reproductive techniques, and infection control.

This scientific conference served as an opportunity for domestic and international scientists, physicians, and educators to exchange ideas, update knowledge, share experiences in applying advanced techniques, modern technology, to enhance the quality of diagnosis, treatment, healthcare for soldiers and civilians; and to improve the quality of education and training in the university.
