On October 28, 2023, the Vietnamese eloquence team of VMMU participated in the “Vietnamese eloquence competition for foreign students studying in Vietnam in 2023” organized by the Ministry of Education and Training. It won Third Prize in Northern region.

The contest took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi National University. This is the first time the competition has been held for foreign students with a nationwide scale of 65 participating teams, with 35 teams in the Northern region alone. The contest is an opportunity for foreign students studying and living in Vietnam to improve their Vietnamese language proficiency.

The team from VMMU includes 3 members of the eloquence team: Thai Leng – class 52LK (Cambodia), Uk Ratanakpiseth – class 53LK (Cambodia) and Malin Phounsavath – 57LK (Laos) and 15 members of the supporting team from Laos and Cambodia.

The VMMU team participated in the contest with the theme “VMMU in me”. In the beautiful and traditional land of Vietnam, VMMU is an ideal environment for students to “hone their virtues, train their talents to make a career tomorrow” to become both professional and talented military doctors. “We vow to continue working together to compete in studying, practice virtue, and make many achievements… towards the 75th anniversary of the traditional day of the heroic HVQY.” The performance ended in the gratitude, determination of the international students and the heroic atmosphere towards the milestone “75 years of traditional day of VMMU (March 10, 1949 – March 10, 2024).

In the required 7 minutes, combined with a vibrant supporting performance, the students presented clearly, fluently and richly in emotions. VMMU’s performance was highly appreciated by the judges for its Vietnamese eloquence and captured the hearts of the audience with enthusiastic applause and cheers. The team from VMMU won the Third Prize.

To have an extremely attractive and excellent performance with high results, the students in the team went through a month of hard training and practice with Vietnamese lecturers – Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​under the direction of of the Faculty’s leadership and the support of agencies within VMMU. They are extremely happy and proud for trying to overcome difficulties to successfully complete their tasks. This is a good stepping stone for international students to strive to study and practice more in the future.
