Military Hospital 103: Improving the quality of treatment for patients
Military Hospital 103 is a scientific research, teaching and treatment facility. Over the past time, Military Hospital 103 has well implemented the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Health and Military Medical Department on professional work, improving comprehensive quality in medical examination and treatment. Currently, the Hospital continues to apply quality management and patient safety according to the Vietnamese Hospital Quality Criteria Set of 83, creating the most favorable conditions for people coming for examination. Thereby, the quality of medical examination, diagnosis, and prescription at the medical examination department has been improved, meeting the increasing medical examination and treatment needs of patients inside and outside the Army.
In 2023, the Hospital will have nearly 697,373 patients examined and treated, organized 22 voluntary blood donations, and collected 9,216 units of blood. In particular, in 2023, Military Hospital 103 has deployed a number of new techniques such as: Magnified dye endoscopy to diagnose early stomach cancer; Treatment of ventricular tachycardia through catheters, implantation of permanent pacemakers, continuous dialysis techniques; laparoscopic surgery to remove the entire bladder. Microsurgery: Fibula skin flap to shape the mandibular defect, anterolateral thigh flap to shape the maxillofacial soft tissue defect. Mastectomy with 1-stage mammoplasty to treat breast cancer… Besides, the Hospital has done a good job of transferring technology to the following units: Bronchoscopy techniques, lung and pleural biopsy; endoscopic technique to remove polyps of the stomach and colon; Vascular intervention techniques, laser treatment of varicose veins; Intravenous thrombolysis technique for treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
