Vietnam Military Medical University and Kanazawa Medical University of Japan Sign Memorandum of Understanding

On July 27, in Hanoi, Vietnam Military Medical University (VMMU) and Kanazawa Medical University of Japan held a ceremony to sign a memorandum of understanding.

Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Kien, Director of VMMU, and Professor Miyazawa Katsuhito, President of Kanazawa Medical University of Japan, co-chaired the signing ceremony.

In his speech at the ceremony, Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Kien, Director of VMMU, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from Kanazawa Medical University for the memorandum signing. The Director affirmed that the signing of the new memorandum represents the effective, practical, and continually developing understanding between the two institutions. The new memorandum serves as a foundation for both sides to further implement cooperative initiatives more effectively in the next phase.

Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between Vietnam Military Medical Academy and Kanazawa Medical University of Japan. 

Vietnam Military Medical Academy and Kanazawa Medical University of Japan have effectively implemented the memorandum of understanding signed in 2008 in the areas of training, scientific research, and delegation exchanges. The two sides successfully collaborated on research regarding the effects of dioxin exposure on human health. Scientists from both institutions have jointly published 30 articles in prestigious international scientific journals.

Many experts from Kanazawa Medical University have attended and presented at scientific conferences organized at VMMU. In terms of training, Kanazawa Medical University has accepted and trained eight PhD candidates from VMMU, seven of whom have graduated and are currently working at various departments and units, with some holding managerial positions.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Kien expressed confidence in the future cooperation between the two institutions, anticipating that they will continue to implement and enhance the effectiveness of their cooperative activities. He believes that the new memorandum will be more suitable to the current conditions and situations, leading to broader and deeper understanding in training and scientific research in the medical field.

At the ceremony, the two sides agreed and signed the new memorandum of understanding with the following basic contents: cooperation in training; scientific research; delegation exchanges; and other areas of cooperation as mutually agreed upon.
