Vietnam Military Medical University Presents “Great Solidarity” House to a Disadvantaged Family in Thach That District

On November 27, Vietnam Military Medical University (VMMU), in collaboration with the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank, held an inauguration and handover ceremony to present a “Great Solidarity” house to a family in extremely difficult circumstances in Tien Xuan Commune, Thach That District, Hanoi. The event was organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the All-People’s National Defense Festival (December 22, 1989 – December 22, 2024).

The program was attended by Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Political Commissar of VMMU; representatives from the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank; leaders of the Thach That District Military Command; and delegates from the Party Committee and government of Tien Xuan Commune.

Speaking at the event, Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Nam stated that in 2024, VMMU organized 24 teams to provide free medical examinations, health consultations, and medication to 7,092 people across various localities nationwide. Additionally, the university conducted numerous activities to honor heroic martyrs, war invalids, and veterans; visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to disadvantaged families in multiple regions; constructed and handed over 5 gratitude houses, 9 “Great Solidarity” houses, and 2 “100 Dong” houses; donated 286 gift packages and 6 savings books to families under social policy and contributors to the nation; visited and gifted 6 centers for people with contributions; provided 15 bicycles to 15 outstanding students; and distributed health insurance cards to students. The total value of medicines and gifts amounted to nearly 2.6 billion VND.These meaningful and practical activities not only alleviate hardships for policy beneficiaries and impoverished households but also foster traditional values, compassion, sharing, and a sense of responsibility among all officers, staff, students, soldiers, and employees of VMMU.
